With military powers divided, we were like mice in a cage to her. The factions would never agree at the strategy meetings, but plans were starting to be put into motion. These plans could never have happened if we left the leaders like they were. Myself being a member of the Cobalt Pride, along with being a target of the Blood Witch, called in a favour.
We sat opposite each other talking when some of the mages from the church surprised us. I always had a bad feeling about them. They told us it was illegal to start a fire on the rooftop and we had to go with them, but we weren't going to go without a fight.
“There's your keyword 'rumours' because they are only rumours” I shouted. “Well, there's no harm in finding out or not, like what other explanation is there for the massive fire that broke out up there in the middle of winter?”. I snapped out of my trance but I was facing ultimate annihilation. Monsters crowded in waves above me, like vultures circling for leftover carcass. There was a loud pitched frequency. I clutched my ears in pain and squeezed my eyes shut tight. When I opened my eyes, hoards of monsters were launching towards me, as if I was the only one left that needed to be picked off. Thundering footsteps came from behind. It was a hoard of monsters running towards me.
