Once a month, Big Boris the zombie controller randomly picks a zone to be rushed by hordes of zombies. Zone 1, me and my squad’s zone had been picked. There’s an exit leading to Zone 6 but it’s extremely hard to find. In zone 6 is where the main hospital is and where we’ll need to go to detoxify ourselves so we don’t become on of the many Big Boris zombies.
I’m sitting in front of a campfire in the forest. It’s been 427 sunrises since I was bitten and infected. But it’s only been 5 days since I escaped my so-called rescuer. That’s what she thought she was, anyway. She thinks she saved me but I think I’d rather be dead. The scars across my stomach are still sore to touch and I haven’t gotten used to the constant smell of rotten flesh in my nose.
Tonight is the night. The zombies are coming. So I’ve to prepare and set up for tonight. I am at a beach. This place has been abandoned the past three weeks. Ever since that disease killed over half of South Dublin. I was with my two friends the night of the first attack. Beatrice and Jack had gone home and I turned on the television. On every channel was the news and the only story was about an outbreak of a disease. We were all warned to stay indoors.
The zombies have hit again. Currently I’m at Liffey valley gathering all the food and supplies, heading to a different location. Every place is filled with disturbing looking zombies. So far I found a gun in some crack gaff. Long story but anyway it’s the only weapon that makes a lot of noise. I don’t know where everyone is.
We all want the same thing in this world a cure. And I’m getting closer to creating one. The experiments still don’t know I haven’t made a full cure yet and they don't dare to question me. The hospital’s fallen quiet now. For a few days and sadly I’m running out of resources. I might send some experiment out but I fear there will be no point. I need power. It's the only way to complete the cure. There's an Institute filled with technology not so far away, but do I trust my experiments to protect me all that way, if I die the cure dies with me. I have to make this trip.
The zombies hit tonight and the hospital and my people are safe but we can see and hear people in distress everywhere. So we decide to leave where we are to help them. Eight of us go North-east and eight go North-west. We set a rendezvous for tomorrow morning. We head off. We see people being killed left right and centre but we stay hidden.
I was standing near complete and utter chaos. It was so quiet up here in these mountains with my group. Almost too quiet. I should’ve known by how calm it was that something was wrong. As society used to say, “calm before the storm”. That literally describes tonight. Zombies. Flesh eating zombies everywhere.
The zombies have wiped out the posh part of south Dublin. I’m in Grange Castle having a few rounds of golf with my dog. Have my other dog on look out in the castle making sure it wasn’t a false alarm and their coming to take my castle. All of a sudden I hear my look out dog barking, I run to the castle pull up my drawbridge lock the castle and go straight to the watchtower. As I am looking into my binoculars I see people coming onto the castle screaming. When they got to the drawbridge they are asking for help and saying the zombies are after them. But in most zombie films the quote is “trust nobody”. So I didn’t trust them and left them outside.
