Black Eyes

Firhouse

I heard someone yell and next thing I knew, something was on my back. It clawed at my face and I struggled to get it off me. Eventually I threw myself backwards on the floor and whatever it was screamed on the impact and I ran into the closest door, grabbing my crowbar on the way. After a minute, I heard a quiet knocking.

Teddy

I turned to the child who was now crying and shaking in distress and fear. My hand was clenched. I asked her “Is this your Mam?”

The child answered “No, my Mammy’s an angel, not a zombie.”

The Scavengers

Firhouse

Despite my better judgement I jumped out from behind the shelves, holding the gun up and aiming it at them, startled, the boy let go of the girl and all three of them backed away. The boy who grabbed the girl had dark hair while the other two had light hair. I motioned for the girl to go behind me and warily, she scrambled to her feet and ran behind me. I told them all to leave and the two light-haired ones immediately ran away but the one with dark hair spoke up,

Upside

My Uncle and I were looking around and I didn’t find anything interesting but suddenly my Uncle turned to me and gave me a box with blossoms over it. He shouted “Happy Birthday!” and handed it to me. I opened it and it was a ring. The ring was old but very beautiful as I put on the ring I look up to my Uncle to realise this isn’t an ordinary ring. I could see an x-ray of my Uncle. I immediately freaked because he was a zombie controlled by the government of America.

The Dishonest Promise

I found Sean eventually. The chap was sitting on a swing. His eyes were as red as the top of a cigarette, and he was shaking more than me after two espressos. I tried giving him a hug, he pushed me away. So I just stood there awkwardly. After five minute he decided to go home with me. God, he was a mess.

The long Wait

Firhouse

When I arrived i found a few people there and amongst them was a girl who looked at me and smiled. I smiled back at her as I didn’t want to be rude. I went over to the girl and started talking to her. She told me that she and the two other boys that came with her were part of a human group that are aiming to get rid of all the zombies and make Tallaght back to how it was before. I was very interested in the idea as I was getting sick and tired of living in this dark and depressing world. I asked if I could join the group and she said yes, of course. From that day I helped the group to kill zombies.

It’s Back!

Firhouse

When we got to Tallaght, I was in shock from what I saw, there was nothing left, everything was burnt to the ground. Me and my brother got out of the car to look through the ash and rubble still in seeing distance of the car. We didn’t speak to each other when we were doing this, I think we were both in shock. We both decided to head back to the car when all of a sudden we hear the tyres skidding, both turning our heads at the same time we see the car speeding away.

The Secret Room

Firhouse

The man pushed us into this dark room, the stinging lights turned on and all I could see were around 20 kids looking up at us, in blankets.

“The little one can stay here” the man pushed Sammy to the other kids.

One Last Chance

Firhouse

Josie and I packed and made our way back to the town hoping it was completely deserted and thankfully it was, so we kept going, gathering the last of the supplies in the town and made our way back to Tallaght. On our way we encountered certain problems along the way. The trains in the past five years have stopped so we had an even longer but more dangerous journey to go on. And all the roads were flooded due to a major storm we had had last week.
