With military powers divided, we were like mice in a cage to her. The factions would never agree at the strategy meetings, but plans were starting to be put into motion. These plans could never have happened if we left the leaders like they were. Myself being a member of the Cobalt Pride, along with being a target of the Blood Witch, called in a favour.
I snapped out of my trance but I was facing ultimate annihilation. Monsters crowded in waves above me, like vultures circling for leftover carcass. There was a loud pitched frequency. I clutched my ears in pain and squeezed my eyes shut tight. When I opened my eyes, hoards of monsters were launching towards me, as if I was the only one left that needed to be picked off. The weeks go by and I get more and more worried. We get regular meals here but it must be awful outside. I can barely remember their faces. My dad James, my mam Catherine, and my brother Greg.
We sat opposite each other talking when some of the mages from the church surprised us. I always had a bad feeling about them. They told us it was illegal to start a fire on the rooftop and we had to go with them, but we weren't going to go without a fight.
I still didn't know what I was going to do, until someone unlocked my front door. It was my aunt. She said something in a foreign language and then it was only us. I ran down to her. She said she had to go before we went through and told me to grab my mam's ashes. I didn't know why but I did it anyway.
